a photo-location and visitor guidebook
Highland Bookshop, Fort William
Thursday 22nd February, 5.00pm
Dougie Cunningham is a full-time photographer based in Glasgow. He came to photography though an interest in adventure sports, primarily kayaking and climbing, and after starting his company, Leading Lines, in 2010 he has become a regular contributor to The Great Outdoors, both photographing and writing features for the magazine. His landscape photography has won several awards, including the Classic View category of the Landscape Photographer of the Year and the Summer category of the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year.
Dougie has just completed an epic project to write and photograph a guidebook to Scotland, written specifically for photographers. The Photographing Scotland project took 4 1/2 years from start to finish, and resulted in a book detailing over 280 of the very best locations around Scotland for landscape photography. Fort William’s excellent new “Highland Bookshop” is hosting an exhibition of some of Dougie’s favourite images from the project as part of the Mountain Festival, and you are invited to come along to the opening event on the 22nd February.
