White Water Kayaking Evening
Join us for an action-packed evening of white water tales with expedition kayaker Allan Ellard.
Ever wondered about what's involved in a kayaking expedition? How it works, what to take? Allan presents an audio-visual roller coaster based on his experience of whitewater expeditions - how they do it, what they do and what they use. He’ll even get his kit out for the evening...
31-year-old Allan has been kayaking for 20 years, spending about 15 of those guiding and exploring on rivers around the world.
In February 2002 Allan was a member of the audacious Yarlung Tsangpo Kayak Expedition which sought to explore the deepest gorge on Earth. High in Tibet the team took on the gorge on the first successful descent in a 35-day epic of wilderness, whitewater and conspiracy. They completed the river as far as was humanly possible, and documented the journey for Outside Television.
Over the last 4 years Allan has expored the wild rivers of Myanmar, India and India's Arunachal Pradesh, exploring further into deeper valleys and uncharted rivers.

ng an audio visual rollercoaster Allan will share the thrill of adventure from past and recent journeys and try to shed light on the unseen nuts and bolts of how expeditions work. From the 'seat of your pants' penniless journeys to million-dollar epics, a river is a river and as Allan puts it "the pointy end of the stick is just as sharp".
