An amazing day where not one, but two routes were climbed by Dave and Andy on brittle ice coming off in dinner plate sized chunks - Observatory Buttress, followed by Smiths Route. This leaves five routes down, two to go, Point 5 Gully and Orion Face. (Not forgetting the Grey Corries Traverse of course!)

Point 5 was done and they were having a blether in the sunshine on the summit by lunchtime. It was an incredible day, perfect weather and great conditions. Fifty years to the day after its first free and one day ascent it was in fine form!
